PARENTS OF SENIORS:

We need volunteers and donations/contributions for the 2017 Senior Splash. The post-graduation safe celebration needs parents to act as chaperones, set up, and more. Meetings will be held March 6, April 3, and May 8 at 6:30 PM in the SHS Library. If you would like to get involved, please attend a meeting or contact
Mrs. Sexton or Mrs. Hahn.

Building Life Foundations Nonviolence Center
Civil Rights Tour

Join us as we visit cities that shaped and changed America, visiting historically rich sites, while learning and training in the foundations of Dr. King’s philosophy of nonviolence.

  • Who: Ritenour and Seckman  students and sponsors, presented by Building Life Foundations Nonviolence Center

  • What: Historical civil rights tour and non-violence training

  • Where: Nashville, Atlanta, Tuskegee, Montgomery, Selma

    • Nashville, TN: Lunchroom Counter Sit-In Museum

    • Atlanta, GA:  Dr. King’s Birth Home, The King Center, National Center for Civil and Human Rights Museum

    • Tuskegee, AL:  George Washington Carver Museum, the Oaks, Booker T. Washington Home, Tuskegee University

    • Montgomery, AL:  Rosa Parks Museum, Dr. King’s Parsonage Home, Southern Poverty Law Center

    • Selma, AL:  Edmund Pettus Bridge

  • When:  July 14, 15, 16

  • Why: To capture the spirit of America's most prominent Civil Rights leaders while learning about the struggle for racial equality and the people behind this powerful social movement.

  • How:  National charter bus line - likely Vandalia Bus Lines

Cost $425 per person, based on double occupancy

Cost includes roundtrip transportation, 2 nights hotel accommodations, breakfast, all entrance fees, and a certified nonviolence trainer/tour leader.

$50 non-refundable deposit due by March 1st to reserve a seat.
