Seckman Middle and Seckman High Schools came together on Monday, November 9, 2015 to honor the heroes of the community. The guests included veterans, policeman, firemen, EMT’s, spouses, and friends. Students and staff worked together to make the ceremony a huge success. Cub Scout Pack 372 presented and retired the colors. SHS Jazz Band I performed music to welcome the guests as they arrived. The ceremony included a breakfast served by SMS students and SHS FBLA members. There were musical selections performed by the SMS and SHS choirs. Nathan Lee played TAPS during a moment of silence. Mr. Al Cochren from Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, proudly spoke to the guests. All heroes that attended the ceremony were recognized with a hero certificate and thank you card made from business classes at Seckman High School and Seckman Elementary 4th grade classes. The ceremony concluded with Seckman’s Veteran and First Responder Walk of Honor throughout the halls of Seckman Middle School as students waved our nation’s flag and thanked the heroes with their claps and cheers. Through efforts of everyone who helped, Seckman proudly served the 9th annual heroes breakfast.
